FAQS ABOUT OUR FARM ANIMALS

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF OWNING ALPACAS?

Other than the fact they're their adorable, Alpacas have a lot to offer! Once a year, they are "shorn" which is a fancy way of saying they get their hair cut. Their hypoallergenic fleece is collected and made into things like yarn, mittens, blankets, and other items that can be used for crafting.
The lesser glamorous advantage of owning alpacas is that, when composted, their manure becomes a rich fertilizer, containing vital elements for healthy plant growth, such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ALPACA AND A LLAMA?

Alpacas are often confused with their Camelidae cousins, the Llama; however, Alpacas are significantly smaller and much more mild tempered. While both animals spit, Alpacas require bit more provoking to do so.
